PAVEL P ANTONOV
Pavel P Antonov is an environmental journalist, media researcher,
communications consultant, television and film producer, author. He is the
Editor in Chief of the BlueLink Information Network
, producer of Day of the Earth biweekly
environmental programme on Demo Television, and formerly Editor in Chief of
Information Programmes Department at Nova Television, Bulgaria. He has
worked as television as political and foreign affairs news reporter and
editor and presenter of information programmes. Author of more than 10
environmental documentaries mostly inspired by his concern about the
deterioration of nature in the Black Sea and its basin. Founder and Chairman
of the BlueLink Foundation (Bulgarian partner of the Association for
Progressive Communications - Central Europe). Founding member of the Centre
for Independent Journalism Foundation, Sofia. His research concerns the
relation between media and environment, its contents and impacts.
Particularly interested in journalism independence, post communist mass
media development, media ethics, and in electronic communication and new
media. BA and MA in Journalism and Mass Communications from Sofia
University, thesis defended with Honors on "Environmental Media - state and
trends in Bulgaria˛. MSc in Environmental Sciences and Policy from the
Central European University, Budapest with thesis topic: "Transformations of
the environment in mass media: A case study of the mass media coverage and
public perceptions of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant in Bulgaria˛.
Participant in Dymposium III, The Danube - a River of Life, organised by the
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in October 1999.
