Associate Professor Dr. Fritz Hausjell
born 1959, communication scientist.
Main topical focus on communication history of the 20th century, historical and current media policy, journalism research. Co-editor of the trade publication “Medien & Zeit”. Teaches at the University of Vienna, institute for journalism and communication science, part-time at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, study course in Media Management.


Karin Junker
born 1940 in Düsseldorf, trained as a daily newspaper editor, many years of professional experience as a journalist and editor, 1980 to 1989 research staff member and personal assistant in a mayor's office in the Ruhr region, 1989 to 1990 member of the European Parliament, here media policies speaker for the Social Democratic Fraction. Has worked since then as a freelance journalist again with an emphasis on European cultural and media policies.
Since 1980 member of the committees of the WDR radio council, 1986 to 1992 Vice President of the programme committee, since then President.
1992 to 1995 member of the programme advisory board ARTE G.E.I.E., deputy member until 2003, since then member again.
Member of the SPD Media Commission and the One World Forum for the SPD party executive board.


Mag.a Veronika Leiner
Studied german and spanish literature and linguistics in Salzburg, Seville and Dublin. Postgraduate in Cultural and Media Management. Working with Community Radio since 1999, concepts and production of various free media and cultural projects (Festival der Regionen 2003, 2005, Ars Electronica Festival 2004), 2004 – 2006 CEO of Radio FRO, the free non-commercial radio station in Linz, Austria and boardmember of the Association of Free Radios Austria. Now working for the Association of Free Radios Austria.


Steve Rogers
Head of Production & Development BBC New Media
After working in the Gillette research labs for the Braun brand, Steve Rogers left England to work for Philips Electronics in 1986 as a product designer. Continuing his career with Philips, he moved to Vienna in 1989 and to California in 1996 to help establish the Multi Media incubator centre in Silicon Valley. His last position with Philips was as Design Director USA with responsibility for all Philips Design studios in the States. Before Joining the BBC Rogers was VP Product Development at Razorfish digital consultancy in San Francisco. Here he had global responsibility for the design of physical and service related products. In his first position at the BBC from August 2001 as Head of Design & Navigation, Rogers was responsible for defining the users’ experience of the BBC on the Web, interactive TV and emerging platforms. In September 2002 he was appointed to his current position where he is responsible for all the teams, technical, content, and user experience who create the core BBC New Media services.


Peter Schwarz
Born 1958, graduate journalist, Social and Sports educationalist, pedagogue for those with special needs. Development of the first open channel in Dortmund, development of the “steel worker TV” in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. Consultant für community media in North Rhine Westphalia and actively contributing to the children’s programme as journalist.

Mag. Otto Leopold Tremetzberger, MBA
Born in 1974 in Linz/Austria Otto Tremetzberger graduated 2001 in cultural and media management at the ICCM. In 2001 Otto Tremetzberger started as marketing and project manager at Radio FRO 105,0 MHz, a community radio station situated in Linz. When in 2002 Tremetzberger became managing director he co-curated Radio FRO’s conferences as contributions to the Ars Electronica Festival until 2004: „Creating interfaces“ , „Towards a society of Control“ and „Collaborative Broadcasting“ brought up-to-the-minute contributions to the debate on freedom of information and communication with a strong focus on the question of technology and media development. In 2004 Tremetzberger organized „FM@edia Forum Freistadt“ on the potential of cross-border media activities in the form of contributions to regional development processes as part of the external link FM@dia Forum.
Since 2002 Tremetzberger has been a board member of the Austrian Association of Free Radio Stations, a nationwide network and lobbying organization of community media in Austria. In 2003 he co-founded Freier Rundfunk Freistadt GmbH and has been managing director of Free Radio Freistadt since 2004. In 2005 Tremetzberger graduaded as MBA at the SMBS (Salzburg University Business School & ICCM) in International Arts and Media Management. Among his work as a professional in the field of arts and media Tremetzberger is a trained mediator and graduated in philosophy and dramatics from the University of Vienna in 2004. Tremetzberger has published articles and essays on media policy and development as well as a number of prose texts in literary journals.

Dr. Klaus-Jürgen Buchholz
director of the department for community radio and media competence at the media institution of Lower Saxony (NLM) in Hannover/Lower Saxonia.
Born 1960, studies of politicial science, journalism and history in Münster/Westphalia. Graduation 1989. 1990-1994 employed at an educational institution for adults associated with the trade union, main focus on political education. Since 1994 employed at the NLM. Manager of the field test to the installation of open channels and non-commerical local radio stations in Lower Saxonia. From 2001/2002 installation of the open channels and non-commercial radio stations in controlled operation following the concept of community radio. Otto Gumpinger (MA)
For about 30 years volunteer work for various NGOs, working in youth, cultural and social projects (founder of an amnesty international group, chairman of the Austrian Czech Anti Nuclear Power Committee, Family Foundation, One World – Upper Austrian “Landlerhilfe”), since 1985 in the Upper Austrian Regional Parliament, Chairman of the Culture Centre “HOF” and as such part-owner of Radio FRO. Married, 3 children, 2 grandchildren, family spokesperson for the Conservative Party Upper Austria, at the moment actively working on the build-up of the integration project “Dialog” of the Upper Austrian family foundation for migrants.

Doris Priesching (MA)
born 1967, MA (Arts), studies of journalism and communication studies, as well as political science in Vienna. Since 1990 with the daily newspaper “Der Standard”, TV-critic, numerous articles on national and international TV-Trends, as well as Austrian media policy. Lectorship at the University of Klagenfurt. Publications amongst others with “Studienverlag” on Austrian TV murder mysteries, TV programmes on personality and culture cult.
